With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward James Cunningham of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on July 4, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Cunningham and Elizabeth Cunningham (Berkley); his daughter Christina Cunningham; and his brother-in-law Robert Coulson. He is survived by: his wife Caroline Cunningham of Springfield; his children, Carrie Pennell (Mark) of Sherman, IL, Edward "Clark" Cunningham (Martha) of Springfield and Curtis J. Cunningham (Theresa) of Monona, WI; his grandchildren, Jake, Olivia, Mia Pennell, Allison, Vivian and Frederick Cunningham; and his siblings, Cynthia Coulson of Riverside, CT and Michael J. Cunningham (Becky) of Evergreen, CO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
