He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stewart Sr. and Laura Redd; and his siblings, Ovelia Crossland, Louise Lowe, Gertrude Williams, Mary Cotton, Thomas Stewart, James Stewart, Jr., Eddie Stewart, Terry Stewart and Napoleon Stewart.
He is survived by: his wife Hattie Mae Bolden; his children, Ernestine and Ernest Stewart, Jr. (Pumpkin); his stepson Anthony Burrow (Leona); his adoptive sons, Michael Stewart of Springfield, IL and Capice Parks; his daughter Beverly Stewart (Bump); his stepdaughter Ervia Burrow; and his adoptive daughters, Michelle Stewart (Ernestine Stewart) of Springfield, IL and Shalonda Bolden (Lonnie) of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
