He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Blackard and Jane L. Blackard (Harris); and his siblings, Pamala Adams (Martyn) and Paul Blackard. He is survived by: his wife Bobbi Blackard of Springfield; his children, Rev. Deb Talbott (Brent) and Jim Blackard (Lori); his sister-in-law Pat Blackard; and his grandchildren, Brandon Blackard (Nancy), Ryan Nothnagle (Jackie), Jared Blackard, Michael Nothnagle (Lyndzi), Chance Blackard (Kirsten), Tyler Blackard, Sarah Mazo (Emery), Amos Talbott and Alice Talbott. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Butler Funeral Home & Cremation (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
