She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Brand and Josephine Brand (Dillon); and her siblings, Thomas Brand and Helen Turley. She is survived by: her husband Robert J. Gathard; her sons, John Gathard (Mary Nguyen) of St. Louis, MO and David Gathard of Divernon; and her grandchildren, Nicole Gathard of St. Louis, Robert D. Gathard (Lexie) of Springfield, Abigail Gathard of Divernon, Adam and Kaitlynn Whitaker of Mackinaw, IL. She is also survived by one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and great great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-great-nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Christ the King Church (1930 Barberry Dr, Springfield, IL 62704). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana or to Catholic Charities.
