He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bernahl and Adeline Bernahl (Moellenkamp); his siblings, Clarence, Erna, Ruth and Ella; and his son-in-law John Heidinger.

He is survived by: his wife Johanna Hobisch of Springfield; his daughter Judith Heidinger of Pawnee; his grandchildren, John Heidinger (Elizabeth) of Olympia, WA and Heather Heidinger (Stephen Badger) of Middlebury, CT; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Aslan Heidinger and Linden Badger; and his brother Kenneth Bernahl of Altamont. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
