He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Bauer and Georgia Ford Bauer. He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Baines (Steve) of Springfield, IL and Denise Bauer (Tom Herzog) of Troy, MI; his grandchildren, Trace, Wesley and Renee Baines of Springfield; his brother John "Mike" Bauer (Vicki) of Springfield, IL; his nieces, Michelle Piepenbrink (Wayne) of Kincaid and Sarah Robinson (Scott) of Springfield; and his nephew John Michael Bauer II (Valerie) of Taylorville.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church (2000 E Sangamon Ave, Springfield, IL 62702).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin De Porres Center.
