She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kail and Loretta Kail (Bottoms); her husband Maurice A. Ballard, Jr.; her son Scott A. Ballard; her grandson Nathaniel Deniz; and her siblings, William Kail, Carol Douglass and Mark Kail.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lori Drake (Bill) of Midland and Heather Abreu of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Aidan Abreu, Amanda Abreu (Andrew Obrecht), Emily Ridderhoff and Luke Ridderhoff; her great grandchild Chloe Obrecht; and her siblings, James Kail, Janet Boone, Joan Aho and Joy Connelly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel (1441 Monument Ave, Springfield, IL 62702).
