With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Mae Moody of Springfield, Illinois, born in Rockford, Illinois, who passed away on November 20, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Carter and Hazel Moody Carter (Purdy); her stepfather Nick Carter; her grandparents, Frank and Amelia Purdy; her sister Jean Mayer; her brother-in-law Christian Mayer; her siblings, Mary Ann Moody and Donald Moody; her great-niece Mary Beth Oliver (Vanderveldt); and her nephew-in-law Melvin Smith.
She is survived by: her nieces, Sandra Vanderveldt (John), Carol Smith and Janice Mayer; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Jennifer Schmidt (Howard), Laura Thomas (Brook), Chris Smith, Michael Smith and Rebecca Megyesi (Michael). She is also survived by twelve great-great nieces and nephews.
