With sadness, we share the passing of Hinton Robert L of Springfield, Illinois. Hinton, born on April 11, 1941, passed away on September 29, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville C. Hinton and Vesta P. Hinton (Garlits). He is survived by: his wife Verla Schoon; his daughters, Jolene Raulerson (Jay) and Christine Douglas; his grandchildren, Jake Raulerson (Rachel) of North Carolina, Josh Raulerson (Taylor) of Texas, Jordan Townsend (Tim) of North Carolina, Lexie Brazil (David) of Texas and Wesley Douglas of Texas; his great grandchildren, Phoebe, Scottie and Callahan; and his sister Judy Gross of Decatur, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran School (2645 Old Jacksonville Rd, Springfield, IL 62704). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707).
Memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
