It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Ervin Davis of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Davis and Ruby Sue Davis (Carter); his brother Gary Lee Davis; and his nephew Dwayne S. Davis, Jr. (James). He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Harvell of Springfield, Rhonda Sue Logan (Cleveland) of Springfield, Wanda Jean Johnson (Goldman) of Springfield, Katrice Davis (Levar) of Springfield, Charles Harvell of Springfield, Larry Harvell of Springfield, Aaron Barrett of Alton, Gergory Treadwell of Portland, OR and Jowan Davis (Marilyn) of Springfield; and his siblings, Melba Norman of Springfield, Ronald Davis of Springfield and Dwayne Davis, Sr. (Christine) of Springfield. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
