With sadness, we share the passing of James Francis Johnson of Springfield, Illinois. James Francis, born on January 20, 1940, passed away on October 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Johnson and Bernice Johnson (Lovelace); his girlfriend Peggy Mueller; his grandson Jimmy Walters; and his son-in-law Scott Huff.

He is survived by: his children, Sheila Huff of Homer, Lisa Rice (James) of Alabama, Jimmy Johnson of Homer, Patty Daniels (Otto) of Potomac and Tammy Lynn Johnson of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Bobby Black (Amanda) of Indiana, Shanon Black (Nicole) of Rochester, Sarah Severns of Homer, James Rice of Alabama, Jessica Rice of Alabama, Jennifer Rice of Alabama, Harlie Walters of Villa Grove, Heather Buckley of Sidney, Laci Zeigler (Chad) of Maroa, Tyler Davis of Rantoul and Cassie Davis of Potomac. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to his daughter, Tammy Lynn Johnson, for funeral expenses.
