We announce the death of James Kaufmann of Springfield, Illinois, born in Jacksonville, Illinois, who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 77. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Morris Kaufmann and Charlene Kaufmann; his siblings, Charlie and Karen; his nephews, Brian, Jordan and Philip; his great-niece Erin; and his pets, Pepper, Delilah, Jezebel, Ethan, Izzy, Spencer, Allen and Oliver.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lenzini; his siblings, Margaret Coon (Peg), Kathy Kording, Theresa Luber, Patty Hamburger (Kaufmann), Frank Kaufmann, Tom Kaufmann, Ann Mullin, Joe Kaufmann and Amy Kaufmann; his stepdaughter Claire Nachtwey; and his pets, Luna and Bella. He is also survived by 90 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
