He was predeceased by: his parents, James McIntyre and Stella McIntyre (Mazrim); his son James R. McIntyre III; and his granddaughter Jacinta Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Peggy McGinnis; his daughters, Angela Fernandez (McIntyre), Regina McIntyre and Shelley McGinnis; his grandson Jacob Rotherham (Mary); and his great grandchildren, Izabelle, Noah James, Fayth, Ezra and Liam. He is also survived by several other grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Butler Funeral Home-Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 5:05 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church (722 S 12th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
