It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Charles Nelson Jr. of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on November 3, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Charles Nelson, Sr. and Margaret McNamara Nelson; and his sister Mary Anne Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Eileen Offerman; his sons, James "JC" Nelson III (Yen Hua) of New York, NY. and Timothy Nelson (Annie) of Des Moines, IA.; his grandchildren, Vinh, Liem and Luc Nelson of New York, NY.; and his sisters, Barbara Nelson of Mokena, IL. and Peggy Bauer (Don Merker) of Bridgeview, IL..
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church (902 St John Dr, Sherman, IL 62684). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Central Illinois Foodbank or to Midwest Mission in Pawnee.
