Jean Briggs Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Briggs of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on December 5, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jean Briggs to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Markie Glen and Mabel Alice Newton (Davis); her siblings, Monica Eifert and Donald Newton; and her brothers-in-law, George Eifert and Rex Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Rick Briggs (Sharon) of Springfield, James Briggs (Diane) of Sherman, Phillip Briggs (Teresa) of Greenville, SC and Julie Roland (Matt) of Springfield; her grandchildren, Stefanie Briggs (Nathan), Shea Moore (Brett), Emily Yow (Ryan), Ethan Briggs, Miles Roland, Alaina Roland, Cooper Briggs and Stacey Bock (Chad); her great grandchildren, Madison Owczarzak (Brayden), Rosalie Moore, Hudson Milspaugh, Ryder Milspaugh, Brantley Yow, Parker Moore, Elliott Yow, Stone Terlesky (Robbie), Hunter Kaeb (Brian), Savanah Milspaugh and Kristopher Smith (Courtney); her great great grandchildren, Jasper Davis, Stetson Kaeb, Sutton Terlesky and Wilder Smith; her sister Naydene Davis; and her sister-in-law Judy Newton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (221 W Washington St, Ashland, IL 62612). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at the Ashland Cemetery.
