It is with sadness that the passing of Jerry W. Hampton (Springfield, Illinois) is shared. Jerry, born on April 26, 1957, passed away on October 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Jerry will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Jerry by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Jerry is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Jerry’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parent Carol Blake; and his stepfather Joe Wood. He is survived by: his wife Sally Pate; his daughter Jamie Hampton; his grandchildren, Joseph Hampton and Maddie Boggs; and his pets, Havoc and Storm. He is also survived by five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home (437 S Grand Ave W, Springfield, IL 62704). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 24th 2027 at the Hampton Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
