It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Green of Springfield, Illinois, born in Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father John Green; his father-in-law Lewis Grimmett; his sister Judith Ann Wynn; and his grandparents, Walter, Thlema Hammond, Clarence and Gertrude Eston.

He is survived by: his mother Jeanetta Green of Quincy, IL; his wife Cassandra Grimmett; his daughters, Chante, Kiera Green of Springfield, IL, Shaonda Gavin (Ezra) and Mikayla Valentine; his mother-in-law Betty Grimmett of Bowling Green, MO; and his brother Rev. Jeff Green (Rachel) of Quincy, IL.. He is also survived by five brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and so many wonderful friends.
