We are sad to announce that, on November 10, 2025, at the age of 74, John Merano Jr. of Springfield, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his father John Merano; his wife Mary Ann; and his sisters, Katie Sweeney Jones and Sharon Sweeney. He is survived by: his son Michael of Springfield, IL; his grandchildren, Elijah Stephens-Merano and Londyn Fleming of Quincy, IL; his siblings, Ted Merano (Patricia) of Springfield, IL and Barbara Pronk (Tom) of Coralville, IA; and his sister-in-law Michele Sweeney of Moline, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
