As John departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy John leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Conrad J. and Mary I. Pohl (Fitzgibbon); his brothers, David and Robert Pohl (Bob); and his brothers-in-law, Edward Canny and Craig Aubuchon.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Ann Pohl of Springfield, IL, Nancy Canny of Springfield, IL, James Pohl (Judy) of Petersburg, IL, Karen Aubuchon of St. Louis, MO and Kathleen Sexton (Jeff) of New Berlin, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Agnes Catholic Church (245 N Amos Ave, Springfield, IL 62702). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
