She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude S. Prier and Julia B. Prier (Turner); and her mother-in-law Creta Burgess. She is survived by: her husband Col. James M. Burgess, Sr.; her child Jennah Purk (Eric); and her grandchildren, Nannie of Will, Parrish Purk, Jacob Ryburn, Julia Burgess, Raleigh and Kaellum Stanton.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Butler Funeral Home- Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
