He is survived by: his children, Jim (Cheryl), Joe (Pat), Tom (Mary), Dan (Peggy), Phil Coats (Cyndy), Jan Sluys (John), Kay Coats and Mindy Torbit (Chris). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
