We announce the death of Larry M. Giacomelli of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 81. Larry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcellino Giacomelli and Vera Lou Giacomelli (Sweetin). He is survived by: his wife Marie A. Vincenti; his siblings, Jean Pierce (Richard) of Daniel Island, SC, Steve Giacomelli (Vicki) of Johnston City, IL and Tammy Hutchinson (Shawn) of Johnston City, IL; his nieces and nephews, Philip Giacomelli (Timm Gann), Michael Pierce (Irum), Karter Hutchinson, Whitney Pierce and Abigail Rooper (Ben); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Wilson Giacomelli, Joseph Pierce Moquin, Madeline Marie Jenkins, Maya Ahmad Pierce and Tilly-Jean Pierce Moquin; his sister Mary Kay Shadowens (Melvin); and his pet Louie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Animal Protective League, Central Illinois Food Bank, ISP Heritage Foundation, or a charity of the donor's choice.
