Though Margaret may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Margaret touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred P. Smith and Hazel Smith (Clark); and her spouse Gomer Mabie. She is survived by: her sister-in-law Joan Bohles. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
