She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Gerding and Carl Gerding; her siblings, Charles Gerding (Ruby), Henry Gerding (Chris), John Gerding, Ann Trello (Tom) and Eleanor Gerding; her husband Jim; her great grandchildren, Harper and Quinn McCaffrey; and her son Michael.
She is survived by: her children, James Mayfield, Jr. (Beth), Mary Dellert (Dave), John Mayfield (Keri), Michelle Sorenson (Tim), Anthony Mayfield (Shelley) and Matt Mayfield (Addie); her grandchildren, Kayleigh Marten (Mark), Alison McGlasson (Nick), Hannah McCaffrey (Brandon), Nick Dellert (Amanda), Claire Schuette (Jacob), Sammie Mayfield, Jane Sorenson, Zack Dellert (Kaylee), Julia Lange (Ben), Dan Sorenson, Maddie Mayfield (Zack Eddington), Sophie Mayfield, Andrew Sorenson, Anna Mayfield, Jacob Mayfield, Rowan and Ryan Mayfield; and her great grandchildren, Maren, Emma Marten, Grayson, Mia Schuette and Leo Lange. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, August 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (1345 N 6th St, Springfield, IL 62702).
