He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Farmer and Myrtle Colvin Farmer; his sisters, Opal, Irene Ratliff and Helen Harris; and his grandson Timothy Farmer.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Cadagin; his children, Maureen Farmer of Springfield, Robert (Kathy) of Waconia, MN, Michael (MaryBeth) of Springfield, John (Sarah Pratt) of Springfield and Terry Farmer (Sandy) of Springfield; his grandchildren, Clare (Brian Atlas), John Zimmerman (Sara), Katie Farmer Medcalf (Jim), Valerie Farmer Rausseo (Julio), Nicholas Farmer (Liz Paunicka), Thomas (Lexi), David (Ali Coffey), Michael Farmer, Daniel Farmer (Megan Unger) and Mathew Robinson; and his great grandchildren, Norah Zimmerman, Theo Rausseo, Jack and Elliot Farmer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a. m. with the Very Reverend Daniel Bergbower, V. F. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
