With sadness, we share the passing of Michael R. Hood of Springfield, Illinois. Michael, born on May 28, 1949, passed away on June 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Webster R. Hood and Doris M. Hood (Mathias); and his sister Susan Tanfield. He is survived by: his children, Vanessa Pankey (Brett), Christopher Hood (Ashlyn) of Springfield and Christine Lee (Tony) of St Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Alissa Hunter (Eastin), Andrew Pankey, Carter Hood, Addison Hood, Colleen Usry (Adam) and Tyler Lee; and his great grandchild Harper Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
