She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Sterling and Edith Monroe, Sr. (Greene); and her husband James Edward "Jim" Alewelt. She is survived by: her children, Lori Lynn Morris (Rick) of Springfield and Lee James Alewelt of Springfield; her grandsons, Cody Morris (Tiffany) of Springfield and Derrick Morris of Springfield; and her brother Rick Monroe of Springfield. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
