She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucious Jackson and Artie Mae Jackson; her brother Earl Jackson; her husband Richard Bates; her siblings, Bertha Jackson, Claudia Sykes, Eva Mae Davis and Rosey Mae Jackson; and her siblings-in-law, Frank Freeman and Karen Jackson.
She is survived by: her children, Perry Sykes, Kizzy Jackson (Chevus), Denise Jackson (Terry), Nina Sykes and Charles Jackson; and her siblings, Georgia Mae Williams, Annie Hart (Clyde), Carrie Mae Freeman, Mark McFarland and Michael Jackson (Kim).
