He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmage Hughes and Irene Hughes (Crickman). He is survived by: his wife Marlene Hughes of Springfield; his children, Ramona Strnad (John) of Aurora, IL and Wayne Hughes of Roswell, GA; and his sisters, Pat Hughes of Springfield and Anna Lou Cook (Donald) of Faribault, MN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Camp Butler National Cemetery (5063 Camp Butler Rd, Springfield, IL 62707).
