He was predeceased by: his son Carl Gietl; his parents, Helen E. Gietl and Richard A. Gietl; and his sister Glenda Herter. He is survived by: his wife Sharon A. Bowman Gietl; his daughter Kathleen Jackson (Matthew); and his pet Muffin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
