With sadness, we share the passing of Richard J. Hartman of Springfield, Illinois. Richard, born on October 4, 1944, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Hartman and Margaret M. Ahrens Hartman; and his former wife Patricia R. Hartman of Joseph's Catholic Church. He is survived by: his sons, Ahren J. Hartman (Terri) of Chicago, Michael J. Hartman (Kristine) of Melbourne, Paul R. Hartman of Cedar Rapids, Stephen E. Hartman (Elizabeth) of Springfield and Matthew R. Hartman of Auburn; and his brother Douglas C. Hartman (Marie) of Heath, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Curry Funeral Home (407 Carroll St, Pawnee, IL 62558). A Mass will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Little Flower (800 Adlai Stevenson Dr, Springfield, IL 62703). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Brush Creek Cemetery (795 Hogan Rd, Divernon, IL 62530).
