She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest N. Serena and Clara DiGirolamo Serena; and her husband David R. Israel. She is survived by : her children, Drake Israel (Annamarie) of Springfield, Stacy Israel of Springfield, Ryan Israel of Washington, DC and Stephanie Israel-McRae (Eric) of Lexington, GA; her grandson David Israel (April); her great grandchildren, Drake and Isabella; her grandson Andrew Israel (Nicole); her great grandchildren, Chloe, Hudson, Ashton and Bennett; her grandson Matthew Israel (Rachael); her great grandchild Henry; her grandson Vincent Israel (Allison); her great grandchild Madelyn; and her brothers, Richard L. Serena (Donna) of Springfield and Gerald E. (late Violet). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cherry Hills Church (2125 Woodside Rd, Springfield, IL 62711). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Cemetery (2001 N 1st St, Springfield, IL 62707).
