We bid farewell to Robert E. Leistner of Springfield, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 18, 2025 at the age of 87. Robert touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer William and Emma Louise Leistner; his sisters, Helen Virginia and Elaine Ruth; his in-laws, Edward, Louise Leach and Juliette Leach; and his siblings-in-law, Bill and Carol Leach.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Leach; his daughter Jill McClelland (Daniel) of Chesterfield, MO; his grandsons, David and Michael McClelland; his son Todd Leistner (Candice) of Cary, IL; his grandchildren, Jack, Paige, William Leistner and Claire Mastio; his daughter Kim Leistner of Springfield, IL; his granddaughters, Amanda and Vanessa Little; his brothers-in-law, Ted (Beverly Leach) of Peterborough, NH and David (Janet Leach) of Chatham, IL; and his stepsister Sally Salvador of Washington, D. C.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Butler Funeral Home - Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 28th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Butler Funeral Home - Springfield Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703).
