It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Eugene Meling of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Meling and Mabel Meling; and his brother Dave Meling. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Meling; his children, Michelle Curran (Greg) and Michael Meling (Shannon); his grandchildren, John Curran (Missy), Chris Curran (Kaleigh), Marissa Meling, Mason Meling (Deanna) and Molly Himeno (Fumio); his great grandchildren, Jayleigh, Scarlett, Meredith, Julia Curran, Calihan, Charlee and Vivian Himeno; his sister-in-law Janet; and his niece Missy Murphy (Maurice).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's honor to support research to the ALS Association or Faith United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth, IL.
