He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Welch and Edith M. Welch (Taylor); his wife Dotty Sloop; and his siblings, Eldon, Max Welch, Betty Robinson and Phyllis LaMotta.

He is survived by: his children, Curt Welch (Mary Beth), Ann Gerrond, Mark Welch (Linda) and Jane Fields (Nathan). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Rochester Christian Church.
