He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Mikel and Wanetta Mikel of Westville; and his sister Delores Jean Czapski. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Mikel; his children, Matthew D. Mikel (Vicki) of El Paso, IL and Melisa Mikel-Norwich of St. Johns, FL; his granddaughter Gabriela Mikel-Norwich of St. Johns, FL; and his brother Kenneth Mikel.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (1930 Barberry Dr, Springfield, IL 62704). A Mass was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
