We announce the death of Ruby I. Chase of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dempsey Mayes and Cora Mayes (Fickas); her husband Benjamin F. Chase, Jr.; her daughter Connie Marie Chase; her siblings, Robert, Junior Mayes, Dorothy Cummings, Dora Hayes and Wilma Hudson; and her son-in-law Gary Hammond.
She is survived by: her children, Janet Hammond of Springfield, Regina Behnen (Michael) of Pawnee and Michael Chase of Creole Springs, IL; and her brothers, Carl of Girard, John Mayes (Sue) of Girard and William Mayes (Nancy) of Springfield. She is also survived by six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.
