He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur A. Garrett and Dorothy May Garrett (Bailey); his wife Louise Shepherd; his daughters, Elizabeth May Garrett of Springfield, Kathryn G. Hobbs of Springfield and Karen Ritterbusch (Mark) of Rochester; his grandchildren, Chrissy Hobbs, Jeremiah Hobbs and Lauryn Ritterbusch; and his great grandchildren, Destinee Lewis, Patricia and Issiah Collins.
