We bid farewell to Stephen D. Meyer of Springfield, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 19, 2025 at the age of 77. Stephen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry C. Meyer and LuElla Meyer (Daniel); his wife Darla R. Ashmore; his brother David Meyer; and his daughter-in-law Melody Meyer.
He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Meyer (Melody) of Springfield and Brian Meyer (Lisa) of Springfield; his stepsons, Christopher Wagehoft of Morrisonville and Matthew Wagehoft of Springfield; his grandchildren, Amber, Riley, Cameron, Ella and Ethan; and his brothers, Reverend Harry Meyer (Linda) of Hillsboro and Thomas Meyer (Luann) of Sherman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the South Side Christian Church (2600 S MacArthur Blvd, Springfield, IL 62704). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Christian Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
