It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Susan Lee Cane of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Benanti and Pearl Benanti (Nation); and her granddaughter Adysen Lowery. She is survived by: her husband Raymond Cane; her daughter Heidi Lowery (Adam) of Springfield; her granddaughter Adalyn Lowery; her brother Wayne Benanti (Sandy) of Springfield; and her nephews, Trent and Travis Benanti.

Burial will follow in Farmington Cemetery, Farmingdale, IL Those that wish may direct memorial contributions to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.

“Mrs. Cane was my 3rd grade teacher (Farmingdale Elementary, a year so long ago I hate to do the math!). She was such a lovely person and a great teacher and I loved being in her class. I also remember loving her curly hair (I was doomed to have stick straight hair)! I know many, many, many kids benefited from having her as a teacher and she will be missed by many. Thinking of her family at this difficult time.”
