It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Henry Herstedt of Springfield, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 21, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Herstedt and Mildred Herstedt (Lundberg); his brother Karl William Herstedt; and his niece Laurie Lynne Wermeling. He is survived by: his wife Kay Herstedt (Wells) of Springfield, IL; his daughters, Karin Wece (Wade) of Freeman Spur, IL and Kristina Dunne (Christopher) of Germantown Hills, IL; and his sisters, Susan Herstedt of Kenosha, WI and Sally Herstedt of Kenosha, WI. He is also survived by two nephews and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Boy Scouts of America, Greater St. Louis Council (specifically to fund those with special needs) or to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marion, Illinois.
