He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Thompson and Ida Thompson (Stover); his son Gary Thompson; and his brother Richard Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Elva "Elvie" Fuchs; his children, Gayle Eilers (Dirk) of Springfield and Stu Thompson (Patti) of Springfield; and his grandsons, Zane, Chase Thompson and Colton Eilers (Meagan Gonyon). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
