With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter John VanDenBossche Jr. of Springfield, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 7, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Walter departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Walter may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Walter leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter J. VanDenBossche and Nancy J. VanDenBossche (Fox); and his brother-in-law Tom Daley. He is survived by: his siblings, Cynthia Biggart (Jerry) of Virden, Lisa Daley of Springfield, Gail VanDenBossche of Springfield and Charles VanDenBossche (Margo) of Bowie, MD.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help cover funeral costs.
