He was predeceased by: his parents, Berna Kathrine Fanter (Kastendick) and Louis John Ernst Fanter; and his siblings, Donald Fanter, Glenn R. Fanter and Wanda M. Beck.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Fanter of Dubuque, IA and Kevin Fanter of Peoria, IL; and his grandchildren, Kymberly and Josephine Wilant.
