We announce the death of Wiley Thomas Mays of Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 95. Wiley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Mays and Wiley Brown; his children, Chris Webber and Sherry Bell; and his siblings, Ruby Mays, Lloyd and Clarence Mays.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Mays of Springfield; his children, Judy Middlebrooks (Derry) of Indianapolis, IN, Monty Webber (Becky) of Springfield and David DeVon (Zaira) of National Harbor, MD; and his daughter-in-law Dena Webber of Owasso, OK. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Butler Funeral Home – Springfield (900 S 6th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
