With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William David Kruger of Springfield, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William David left this world on July 19, 2025 at the age of 82, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Albert and Helen Marie Kruger (Richardson); his mother-in-law Lillie Mae "Lil" Trimmer; his wife Lillie "Lil" Kruger; and his brother John Kruger.
He is survived by: his children, Jami Owens of Springfield and Jeff Kruger (Kerri) of Gardner, KS; the mother of his children Delores Kruger (Wilson); his stepson Ryan Ogden (Amy) of Batavia; his grandchildren, Kelsey Park (Nathan), Brett Owens (Delaney), Marissa Kruger, Kenzie Kruger, Olivia and Luke Ogden; his close friend Patricia Ellerman of Springfield; his children, Scott Cobern (Jerica), Diana DeLong (Dino), Mindi Piek (Kenny) and Kara Pierceall; his grandchildren, Blake, Brooklynn, Summer, Kailey, Tripp, Jace and Chloe; his siblings, Faye Roth, Frank Kruger (Pam), Sharon Sakris (Charlie) and Pam Kruger; and his sister-in-law Gail Kruger. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Staab Funeral Home - Springfield (1109 S 5th St, Springfield, IL 62703). A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Refuge Ranch.
