He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Sawyer and Hazel Sawyer; his wife Nancy Sawyer; and his brothers, Russell, Al (Dean) and Eddie Sawyer.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Sawyer (Jaime) of Marine, IL and Bridgette Ebersoldt (Kevin) of Grafton, IL; his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Logan), Alexander, Cole, Brock and Karys; his great grandchild Lily Ebersoldt; his siblings, Kenny Sawyer (Jan) of Hammond, IL, Larry Sawyer (Faye) of Arthur, IL and Wanda Williams of Yorkville, IL; and his sister-in-law Ann Sawyer of Hammond, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Barry Wilson Funeral Home (2800 N Center St, Maryville, IL 62062). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
