She was predeceased by: her husband S. Navy; and her daughter Jodi Lee. She is survived by: her son Scott Erwin (Julio) of Falls Church, Virginia; her son-in-law Ken Durio; her grandson Michael Durio (Amanda); and her great grandchildren, Lillian Lou Durio and Jett Michael Durio. She is also survived by friends, and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wilson's Funeral Home (509 W Illinois St, Steeleville, IL 62288). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at the Evergreen Cemetery (501 W Holmes St, Chester, IL 62233).
In lieu of flowers, it was Melba's wish that memorials be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church—Wine Hill and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
