She was predeceased by: her husband Donald F. Preuss; her parents, Forrest Near and Jeanette Near-Siebert; her siblings, Paul Near (Jackie) and Carolyn Ginther (Keith); and her daughter-in-law Ann Preuss.
She is survived by: her children, Kurt Preuss (Joan), Scott Preuss (Sheila), Frank Preuss, Paul Preuss and Jennifer Schmidt (Michael); her grandchildren, Christina (Mike), Kyle, Scott (Monica), Mark, Brian, Jack, Kimberly, Nicole, Kirsten and Kaylie; and her great grandchildren, Eleanor, Scarlett, Madelyn, Maxwell and Pierce. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 28th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Forsythe Gould Funeral Home (507 S State St, Manhattan, IL 60442). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
