He was predeceased by: his daughter Angelica; and his parents, Bessye Scheive and Herbert Scheive. He is survived by: his sister Barb Blackburn (Bob); and his children, Jon Scheive, Rob Scheive, Brent Scheive (Kelsey) and Christine Ellefson (Joel). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
